$2,58M for the sale of modern and contemporary Chinese art at Sotheby’s Beijing

On 5 December 2015, the sale of modern and contemporary Chinese art at Sotheby’s Beijing realized 16.538.880 RMB (2.584.280,76 $). The top lots are Untitled ( Flower Ambiguous No. 4 ) (1998) Xie Nanxing, which has more than six times its high estimate by reaching 2.12 MRMB ($ 331,896 ), Wandering the city (2006) Xu Lei, awarded 2 MRMB ($ 313,458 ), or Lady of Daliangshan of He Jiaying ( born 1957), sold for 1.47 MRMB ($ 230,484 ). It is therefore more contemporary art, indeed very contemporary that has dominated this sale. It also included works by big names such as Mao Yan, Zeng Fanzhi, Liu Dan and Jiang Hongwei.
