The 9th Moscow Photobiennial is on

Moscow, 25 April 2012, Art Media Agency (AMA). The 9th edition of Moscow International Photobiennial Festival is now opened until 27 May 2012. The Internet website Photographie.com explains that with over 50 exhibitions in several museums and galleries in Moscow, the festival is obviously one of the major events regarding international photography. Works by famous photographers will be displayed — Martin Parr, William Klein, Ai Weiwei, and Sarah Moon, among others — under the themes Cinema Photography, America in Focus, and On the Road. Created in 1996, the festival takes place in different cultural spaces in Moscow such as the Multimédia Art Museum, the Manège, the Russian Academy of Fine Arts, the Cervantes Institute, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the Gallery of Fine Arts Zourab Tsereteli, etc. Lasting three months, the festival comprises around 70 events: exhibitions by Russian and foreign photographers, talks and lectures, cinema screening — Alexandre Sokourov’s and Wim Wenders’ movies, as well as a series of documentaries about Ingmar Bergman —, and workshops.
