Le Voyage à Nantes 2015 edition

Le Voyage à Nantes, a contemporary art biennale organised by the city of Nantes since 2011, is this year to take place from 3 July until 30 August. Around forty trail places, marked by a green line that runs through the city of Nantes, lead visitors from the city centre to the suburbs, as far as the Loire estuary and even to Saint-Nazaire, whose fortified canal lock terrace will be transformed by Felice Varini. Prizegiving at Gibbes Museum of Art

South Carolina, 4 May 2011, Art Media Agency (AMA) During its annual general meeting, the Gibbes Museum of Art revealed the winners of its three prizes, the Factor Prize for Southern Art, the Mary Whyte Art Educator Award and the Philanthropy Award. The Factor Prize for Southern Art honours a talented artist that has contributed to the artistic development of the southern United-States. This year, the prize was awarded to sculptor Patrick Dougherty. The award is accompanied by a $10, 000 check. Most of the time, Dougherty works with branches that he assembles into peculiar and poetic installations. He previously exhibited in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, England, Japan, as well as in many other American States. Created in 2007, the Mary Whyte Art Educator Award honours a high school teacher committed to arts instruction. Anne Purvis-Norman, teacher at McClellanville, was awarded the prize for her project of creating a mural mosaic with her students. She was also offered $2, 000 Fort its 3rd edition, the Philanthropy Award was presented to Gibbes group. Since its creation in 2001, Gibbes donated over 1 M$ to the museum to finance touring exhibition as well as education programs related to the arts. During the prizegiving, the museum administration took the opportunity of announcing that seven new members would join the board of directors. Since 1905, the Gibbes Museum is situated in Charleston, in a historic building from the Art Nouveau era. It houses a collection of 10,000 mostly American art...
