“Fellows” return to college at the New York’s Wilkinson Gallery

New York, 5 September 2013, Art Media Agency, (AMA). An exhibition entitled “Fellows” opened on the 3 September and is to continue until 29 September 2013 at the Wilkinson Gallery, New York Academy of Art. It is to present paintings and sculptures created by former fellows of the academy Jonathan Beer, Aleah Chapin and Nicolas Holiber. The exhibition is to present conceptually-based figurative art, showcasing three of the infinite interpretations of the Academy’s education in practice. Jonathan Beer creates visually complex paintings which combine both cultural and personal references, whilst Aleah Chapin produces lovingly executed portraits of the women from her native town. First exhibition of Artwork by Top Beijing Art Academy Faculty in the U.S.

New York, 10 January 2013, Art Media Agency (AMA). The New York Academy of Art is pleased to present “From Beijing”, the upcoming exhibition of artwork by the faculty of Beijing’s Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) with an opening reception on Tuesday 22 January from 6 to 8pm. The show will remain on view through 17 February 2013. “Fom Beijing” will include works by Xie Dongming, Liu Shangying, Sun Xun, Hu Jiancheng, Lu Liang, Lin Xiaochu, Li Yanzhou, Ma Xiaoteng, Wang Shaolun, Shi Yun, Kang Lei, Hong Ling, Liu Xiaodong, Yu Hong, Ma Lu, Jia Difei, Wang Yuping, Liu Gang, Pei Yongmei, Shen Ling, and Zhang Yuan. The exhibition will also include a discussion in the Academy’s Wilkinson Hall on 14 February, featuring Yishu magazine contributor and Pratt Institute’s Jonathan Goodman, curator Michelle Loh of Arts Asia Pacific, Xie Dongming of CAFA and Xu Bing of the CAFA Museum.
