Valeska Soares on show at Max Wigram Gallery for a time

London, 2 April 2014, Art Media Agency (AMA). Max Wigram Gallery is to present the exhibition “Double Margin” by Valeska Soares which is to run from 9 April to 24 May 2014. “Double Margin” serves as an exploration and reflection on the duality of time, its inherent nature and its many forms. The visitor can discover the ways in which the artist transforms past moments through her use of objects, defying the ageing effect of time by instilling them with new life and purpose. Soares uses a variety of old materials – namely books, furniture and other objects traditionally associated with daily life – which she manipulates and adapts, altering their appearance and their function. In doing so, she gives the objects a new symbolic dimension. Valeska Soares was born in 1957 in Belo Horizonte in Brazil. She now lives and works in New...
