Call for projects for the inaugural Antarctic Biennale

The artistic directors of the first Antarctic Biennale, to be held from 27 March to 6 April 2017, has launched a call for international applications from artists under 35 years, in response to the maxim “Mobilis in Mobile”. The jury includes artist Alexander Ponomarev and board members, Defne Ayas, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Hoor Al-Qasimi and Nadim Samman. Eungie Joo to curate Sharjah Biennial 12

Sharjah (United Arab Emirates), 19 November 2013, Art Media Agency (AMA). Eungie Joo has been appointed curator of the 12th edition of the Sharjah Biennial, to take place in March 2015. Joo is the director of art and cultural programmes at Instituto Inhotim, and has previously occupied the post of director and curator of education and public programmes at the New Museum. The director of the foundation, Hoor Al Qasimi, declared that: “Reflecting a career focused on working closely with artists and communities, Joo’s collaborative perspective will find resonance in Sharjah and enrich the experience of SB12.” Joo is to replace Yuko Hasegawa, curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (MOT), who directed and curated Sharjah Biennial 11. Sarjah’s biennale will set on 11 to 13 of march

Sharjah, September 6, 2012. Art Media Agency (AMA). The Sharjah Art Foundation announced that the Sharjah Biennial (UAE) will be held from 11 to 13 March 2013. Yuko Hasegawa, current curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (MOT), the opportunity to be the director and curator of the event. For the eleventh edition of the Sharjah Biennial, the foundation run by Hoor Al Qasimi will receive many artists from different backgrounds such as Francis Alÿs, Tiffany Chung, Runa Islam, Lucia Koch, Ernesto Neto and Gabriel Orozco. Yuko Hasegawa wants at the event to highlight the diversity of cultures and societies of our world, spatial relationships and policies, new forms of contact, dialogue or exchange we face today.
