Charlotte Laubart has been designated artistic director of the 2017 Nuit Blanche 2017 – the event’s 16th edition in Paris. Charlotte Laubart directed the Musée d’Art Contemporain de Bordeaux from 2006 to 2013 and contributed to the creation of the Pinchuk Art Centre in Kiev, Ukraine. Ben Genocchio to run the next Armory Show

The Armory Show has revealed the 207 exhibitors at its next New York on 2 to 5 March. New arrivals include Jeffrey Deitch (New York), Dominique Lévy (New York, London, Geneva), Pace Gallery (New York, London, Beijing, Hong Kong, Paris, Palo Alto) and White Cube (London, Hong Kong). But this year, some big-name participants will be missing, including the David Zwirner Gallery (New York, London). Also off the list are the Goodman Gallery (Johannesburg, Cape Town), Alison Jacques Gallery (London) and Fine Arts Contemporary (Berlin). OMA, creative mediator for the 12th edition of Manifesta in Palermo

The Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) has been hired as creative mediator for the 12th edition of Manifesta in Palermo, to be held in 2018. Ippolito Pestellini Laparelli, who will be heading the OMA team for this project, has declared that “in the current political climate, Palermo’s history and character make it the ideal laboratory to re-imagine, from a Mediterranean perspective, the liberal values we share, and to address crucial issues for the present and future of the European city”. OMA will be setting up an interdisciplinary group representing music, contemporary art, sociology, architecture and cinema by examining the way in which today’s cities are affected by climate change, tourism, migration and gentrification. Opening of the 5th edition of the Ateliers de Rennes

The 5th edition of the Ateliers de Rennes opens this weekend, on 1 October, and will continue until 11 December. It has been designed by exhibition curator François Piron, assisted by Marie de Gaulejac. It will take place in different locations in Rennes, including the Musée des Beaux-arts, the FRAC Bretagne, the Criée-Centre d’Art Contemporain, as well as off-site, namely at the La Passerelle art centre in Brest. The Nakba: the 3rd edition of Qalandiya International

The 3rd edition of Qalandiya International, a biennale in Palestine, will be on the themes of return and refuge, and titled “The Sea is mine”. It is to take place on 5 to 31 October. The organisers refer to the Nakba, the exile of 750,000 Palestinians in 1948. Sixteen art and cultural organisations are involved in the project, including the Al Ma’mal Foundation for Contemporary Art in Jerusalem.
