Olivier Michelon Appointed Chief Curator at Fondation Louis Vuitton

Olivier Michelon have been appointed as new chief curator of the Fondation Louis Vuitton, in Paris, from March 2016. Olivier Michelon, who has been at the Musée des Abattoirs—the FRAC institution in the Midi-Pyrenees region—for over three years, will leave his position in Toulouse to become the new chief curator at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris next March. Michelon was appointed as head of Les Abattoirs in March 2012, when he was 36 years old. He previously worked at the Musée départemental d’art contemporain de Rochechouart, in the French region of Haute-Vienne. In the meantime, he will still oversee the Toulouse museum’s upcoming exhibition featuring Antoni Tàpies, which opens on February 12. Catherine Evans named curator of Carnegie Museum of Art

Pittsburgh, 21 November 2013, Art Media Agency (AMA). Lynn Zelevansky, director of the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, has announced the appointment of Catherine Evans to the position of new chief curator. Evans was previously chief curator at the Columbus Museum of Art, where she oversaw the acquisition of a Photo League archive. She left this position two years ago in order to become Columbus Museum’s curator of photography. She is co-author of the book The Radical Camera: New York’s Photo League, 1936-1951 (2011), a monograph of an exhibition which she herself curated. Sofía Hernández Chong Cuy Appointed Chief Curator of Mercosul Biennial

Mercosul, 23 August 2012, Art Media Agency (AMA). Porto Alegre, Brazil’s Fundação Bienal do Mercosul, appointed Sofía Hernández Chong Cuy chief curator of the ninth edition of the Mercosul Biennial, which will open on 13 September, 2013. Currently curator of contemporary art at the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, based in New York and Caracas, Venezuela, Hernández previously worked as director of the Museo Tamayo in Mexico City from 2009 to 2011 and was curator and program manager at Art in General in New York from 2003 to 2008. For the Mercosul Biennial, her team will include Mônica Hoff, Raimundas Malašauskas, and Bernardo de Souza, as well as four curatorial fellows, Julia Rebouças, Sarah Demeuse, Daniela Pérez, and Dominic Willsdon.
