“Lilas”, the Zaha Hadid pavilion, on sale at Sotheby’s

Created in 2007 for the Serpentine Gallery’s summer fair, Zaha Hadid’s “Lilas” pavilion is part of the 11th yearly “Beyond Limits” exhibition at Sotheby’s. The event focuses on outdoor sculptures from the modern and contemporary era, and is visible until 30 October in the historic gardens of Chatsworth House in Derbyshire – the former seat of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. Munro illuminates Longwood Gardens

Longwood, 13 June 2012, Art Media Agency (AMA) On Friday 8 June 2012, British artist Bruce Munro unveiled his new installation in Longwood Gardens to the American press. The work, named Light spread out over 10 hectares and was commissioned by Longwood. It will stay in place until 29 September. The installation is composed of six monumental and luminous pieces displayed outside and two pieces inside the “Grand Conservatory”. There is also a series of luminous sculptures in the historical concert room. Each piece is made to harmonise and reveal the beauty of the premises that the artist so admires. “The unmatched beauty of Longwood Gardens inspired me in so many ways, creating works that speak to the landscape but also enhance the natural beauty of the Gardens was an exciting artistic challenge. I hope that guests will see in these works the beauty of melding light and the landscape to become one.” These guests will have the opportunity to wander in a forest of light stems called Forest of Light, or also explore the luminous and symmetric sculptures of the maze, the colour of which changes according to the music (Water Tower).
