AZIMUT/H at the Guggenheim Venice

From 20 September 2014 until 19 January 2015, Guggenheim Venice, is to present “AZIMUT/H. Continuity and the New”. The exhibition, curated by Luca Massimo Barbero, pays homage to the AZIMUT/H gallery and the publication Azimut/h — both founded in 1959 in Milan by Piero Manzoni and Enrico Castellani. Both projects played a significant part in the Italian and international art scene, and were orchestral to Italy and Europe’s cultural revolutions. The two institutions aimed to provide “a new artistic concept” according to their creators. Piero Manzoni is an Italian artist and pioneer of Conceptualism, best known for exploring the subjects of nature and art. In refusing to use traditional mediums, the artist creates his pieces with all kinds of waste.
