Edward Dolman has announced he is to leave his post as Executive Director and Acting Chief Executive of the Qatar Museums Authority (QMA). The previous Chief Executive and Chairman of Christie’s has occupied his position at the QMA for three years.
His roles as Chief Executive included overseeing the construction and opening of several new museums in Qatar, alongside Sheikha Al Mayassa Bint Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the organisation’s chairwoman. Dolman has also presided over the state’s collections, acquiring new works and organising major exhibitions such as the Damien Hirst show last year, and a Richard Serra exhibition which opens on 10 April.
Speaking to The New York Times, Dolman expressed his wish to “refocus my life in London and New York”.
