London, 11 June 2013, Art Media Agency (2013).

An exhibition, entitled ’Alternative Guide to the Universe’, is to run from 11 June to 26 August 2013 at London’s Southbank Centre.

Exploring the works of self-taughts artists and architects, the ’Alternative Guide to the Universe’ aims to offer ’bracingly unorthodox perspectives’ upon the world we live in. Running alongside the ’Alternative Guide to the Universe’, The Museum of Everything is to present sculptures by self-taught Indian artist Nek Chand Saini, whose works were originally featured in The Museum of Everything’s inaugural show. These will be shown in an exhibition located in The Hayward Gallery.

Established in 2009, The Museum of Everything is an institution which aims to exist as the world’s first centre for the promotion of work by art and architects which the gallery describes as ’unintentional, untrained, undiscovered, unclassifiable and unknowable’. Since opening, the gallery has welcomed over 500,000 visitors to view its ambitious installations across the world, and is considered to be one of the leading international advocates for self-taught and non-traditional art.
