The Affordable Art Fair is proud to add Hong Kong to its family of worldwide fairs in March 2013. This Art Fair is already staged across Europe, the US and Australia as well as Singapore. This year it will be running from 15 to 17 March (private view opening on Thursday 14 March). This edition will be welcoming over 15,000 visitors to the world-class Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Affordable Art Fair was founded in London in 1999 with the goal of breaking down perceived barriers to the art world – namely expense and lack of knowledge – while offering people a comprehensive introduction into the joys of owning contemporary art.
Its founder, Will Ramsay, has increased to 18 Affordable Art Fairs around the globe and these fairs have sold over €24,239,193 worth of art and welcomed more than 1 million visitors worldwide. Hong Kong was chosen for this edition since it is the natural place to launch the second Asian art fair as it is the business centre of Asia coupled with a dynamic arts scene that has significantly grown over the past five years.
Concerning the artworks at Affordable Art Fair, Contemporary Art by living artists retailed between €990 and €9,890 with 75% of the art under €7,420. The Fair offers a large variety of prints, paintings, sculptures and photography.
