Zurich, 2 January 2013, Art Media Agency (AMA).
Kunsthalle Zurich and Zürcher Kantonalbank (Zurich Cantonal Bank) have announced cooperation for 2013, after a two-year period of renovation work on the Kunsthalle Zurich. The museum finally reopened in August 2012 and is entering a new stage in its development on the international art scene through its partnership with Zürcher Kantonalbank, the fourth largest bank in Switzerland that benefits from cantonal protection, and therefore financial stability guaranteed by its peculiar status. It was rated one of the safest banks in the world by Global Finance Magazine in 2009. This cooperation marks the first partnership Zürcher Kantonalbank has ever established with a contemporary art institute, which should reinforce the museum’s standing on both a national and an international scale.
This partnership is to embrace the new scope and possibilities offered by the Löwenbräu space that has just been entirely renovated and rearranged, to welcome efficient mediation policies and rich cultual programming in the heart of the art city of Zurich.
