Hong Kong, 17 September 2012. Art Media Agency (AMA).

The HARDNECK.hk gallery, based in Hong Kong, will exhibit, from 22 September to 20 October 2012, works by Ko Sin Tung.

Born in 1987 and graduated at the Fine Art school at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Ko Sin Tung will show his last acrylics and video installation in occasion of the exhibition titled “Undone”.

He gets his inspiration from building sites in Hong Kong, a city enduring a perpetual change and renewal. He investigates the relationship between individual actions and mass changes. Does the act of building lead to a shared aim or the building imperfections will just be a fossilised image through different eras?

The lights and neon tubes, trademarks of Hong Kong, also inspire Ko Sin Tung, who was able to “dilute” them and keep just the essence of colours in a video installation called Planet Series (2012). This work approaches the relationship between formal abstraction and essential functioning of these signs.
