Saint-Étienne, September 11, 2012. Art Media Agency (AMA).
The next International Biennial Design Saint-Etienne will take place from March 14 to 31 2013. The theme chosen for this edition is “Empathy or experience of the other.” Empathy is a mechanism by which an individual can feel, experience, understanding the emotions, feelings or even beliefs of others. This theme thus suits well with artistic work.
Biennial International Design Saint-Étienne will broadcast throughout the country, with the participation of different actors: Museum of Modern Art, Museum of mine, Museum of Art and Industry, Le Corbusier site in Firminy. Exciding this territorial resonance, Biennale will shine beyond borders: Commissioners, visitors, exhibitors and foreign journalists are invited to participate in exchanges. Cities from the UNESCO Design Creative Cities Network will particularly be honoured.
According to the press release, this eighth edition will be firmly focused on innovation, forecasting and research by design. Thus, designers, firms, and students (including those of the Graduate School of Art and Design in Saint-Étienne), economic and institutional actors are invited to present their projects and achievements, their lifestyle proposals related to our current or future practices.
