On September 20, 21 and 22, Madrid will again be the focal point of contemporary art. The Spanish capital will celebrate the opening of the APERTURA art fair at the end of the month in which fifty galleries will simultaneously open their exhibitions. At the same time, a wide program of activities in museums and art centres will promote the national and international creation.
The third edition of APERTURA, organized by the Association of Arte_Madrid galleries, will attract collectors, art experts and curators from around the world who will find in Madrid experts and curators from all around the world.
Works by famous artists such as Eduardo Chillida, Donald Judd, José María Sicilia or Zaha Hadid, will be close to solo exhibitions of European artists like Günther Förg, Alberto García Alix, Miki Leal, Jonathan Hernández and Juan Asensio. The Latin American artists will be also represented, including David Lamelas and José Dávila.
The public will be able to use extended hours in the galleries to register for one of the novelties of this edition. Thus, on invitation, spectators will be able to participate in “Gallery Walks”. A guided tour will also be held each day in one of the neighbourhoods hosting the fair to catch all the details of spaces and exhibitions.
