Paris, 12 September 2012, Art Media Agency (AMA).
For autumn 2012, Paris will be the stronghold of the international art market. On the occasion of the Biennale des Antiquaires at the Grand Palais, the Carré Rive Gauche is also offering a very surprising event from 12 to 15 September: “Le Carré dans tous ses éclats” (“The Carré in all its splendors”).
Gallery owners of the Carré Rive Gauche, an association bringing together dealers and gallery owners of different specialties (111 in total) in a space located between the Quai Voltaire and the rue de l’Université, are displaying their finest objects. Antique dealers are revealing their latest acquisitions and the Carré is displaying a huge selection of unique pieces: ranging from ceramics to tapestry, and including furniture, painting, sculpture, archaeology, and art works from antiquity to today.
The proximity of the Louvre, Musée d’Orsay and Musée des Arts Décoratifs has created close links between antique dealers and leading French and Foreign museums. The Carré Rive Gauche has somehow become their favourite supplier: a tapestry for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, archaeological treasures for the Louvre, furniture and art pieces for the Musée d’Orsay, etc. Nowadays, the expertise displayed by the Carré Rive Gauche’s antique dealers is a reference in the world of art.
