From 16 to 21 July 2012, the Atelier-Kunst (Spiel) Raum will host Chilean artist Macarena Abarca Flores in its residency area H192.
During a week, Macarena Abarca Flores will live in the gallery’s residency areas, producing works with the help of different materials and ideas including performance, drawings, and video, has announced the gallery in a press release on 9 July. During this time, the studios will be accessible to the visitors. The artist will display her works right after the residency during a final exhibition set to take place from 25 July to 5 August 2012.
Macarena Abarca Flores was born in Santiago de Chile in 1984 where she currently lives and works. She got her degree in Visual Arts at the Chili University where she has been assisting lecturers since 2007. She participated in numerous collective exhibitions and is a member of the International Residency Programme of Curatoria Forense in Rosario, Argentina and of OTI in Buenos Aires. She is currently displaying projects, both individual and collective, at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Bogota, Colombia.
