Los Angeles, 11 April 2012, Art Media Agency (AMA).

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art has moved its exhibition “Gifts of the Sultan: The Arts of Giving at the Isamic Courts” almost 8,000 miles in order to get around a Russian government ban on loaning works of art to American museums.

Following a decrease in presentations of the exhibition at LACMA and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, it will be displayed in its entirety at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, Qatar, from 21 March to 2 June 2012.

The exhibition features 200 works from various European, American, as well as Middle Eastern collections, providing an extensive insight into the presents which have been featured over the fourteen centuries of Islamic civilisation.
