The Taksu gallery in Singapore is organising the exhibition “Tales of Tomorrow”, which is due to be open for two weeks between 3 and 19 May 2012. This exhibition will feature new paintings by two Canadian artists: Celia Neubauer and Joe Fleming.
Having completed her studies in visual arts at New York University in 1986, Neubauer went on to continue her studies at the Slade School of Fine Art in London, graduating in 1990. She would then teach at the University of Toronto’s school of architecture and landscape architecture, before moving on to the Queen’s University in Kingston. Since getting her first degree, Neubauer has been the subject of around fifteen solo exhibitions in Canada as well as having been featured in a number of collective shows.
A graduate of the Ottawa School of Art and of Sheridan College of Applied Arts, Joe Fleming has been the subject of a multitude of solo and collective exhibitions, both in Canada and abroad, and is often featured at the Taksu. Since 2003, he has also created several short films. Although he has held several teaching positions over his career, the longest and most significant was his stint at the Toronto School of Art, from 2003 to 2008.
