Gallery owner Bernard Prazan dies

The French gallery owner Bernard Prazan, founder of Applicat-Prazan, died on the 29 December 2011 following a stroke. His burial took place on 2 January 2012.

The gallery principally displayed works of major artists from the School of Paris, including Zao Wou-ki, André Masson, Serge Poliakoff, Jean-Paul Riopelle, Olivier Debré, Jean Dubuffet and Hans Hartung.

After Prazan retired in 2004, it was his son Franck (former director of Christie’s France), who took over the reigns of his father’s gallery, opening a second exhibition space in 2010.
