New York, 30 September 2011, Art Media Agency (AMA).
VIP Art Fair’s 2nd edition will be displayed online from 3 to 8 February. The show’s first edition was organised last year, when major international galleries participated and exposed their works exclusively online. This year’s objective is the same, as VIP Art Fair will allow contemporary art collectors to browse for pieces online as well as getting in touch with international traders.
The show’s organisers announced via the press release that over a hundred galleries from 32 different countries have already joined this edition. Notably: Zwirner (New York), White Cube (London), Pace (New York, Beijing), Hetzler (Berlin), Ropac (Paris, Salzburg), Fraenkel (San Francisco), Goodman (New York, Paris) and Hyundai (Seoul).
According to the management team, the show faced some technical difficulties during the first edition. This was due to the remarkable amount of online visitors from 130 countries, and the fact that they reviewed the same pieces online over 3.3 million times.
It is believed that there are many visitors interested in this show, however, very little results were announced. This second edition will be a great opportunity to take advantage of the opinion poll of the art market online. Furthermore, especially as such dealers are increasing in the art market like India Art Collective, which will take place from 19 to 26 November online.
