On 15 and 16 June, Saffronart is holding its annual summer sale of modern and contemporary art, comprising sixty-five lots. The auction house’s online auction platform ranks as the first in the world.
The key items of the sale are lot #27 Carcassonne, completed by S.H. Raza and estimated at $150,000 to $200,000, as well as Tyeb Mahta’s Unttiled (Kali), 1998, valued at $287,360 to $402,300.
Two works by Maqbool Fida Husain will be on sale as well, including lot#41, an ink work on paper estimated at $6,900 to $9,200, and lot# 21, an oil painting valued at $91,955 to $114,945. A pastel drawing by Arpita Singh is estimated at $$12,000 to $15,000 and an oil by the same artist is valued at $90,000 to $120,000.
Some of the other artists featured at the sale are Francis Newton Souza, Jehangir Sabavala et Manjit Bawa.
