Lehmann Maupin has announced the opening of a new space in Chelsea, West 24th Street and 10th Avenue. Its opening is scheduled for 2017.
This new space will be offering 8,500 m2 over three floors. The design of this space has been entrusted to architect Peter Marino. The space will be hosting public exhibitions, private rooms and offices.
The new space is to become the main space for the gallery’s activity. David Maupin, founder of the gallery, specifies its ambitions: “Chelsea remains an important hub of the New York contemporary art scene. We represent a growing roster of renowned international artists, and it is important for us to be able to offer additional exhibition options and exposure within the area. This new space, which is uniquely our own, will provide us with the opportunity to present up to three exhibitions in Chelsea at a time.”
