Dresden’s State Art Collections have recently acquired a work by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (Straßenbild vor dem FriseurladenStreet Scene in Front of the Hair Salon (1926)). This work had been stolen by the Nazis in the same museum almost 80 years ago.

This information comes from Catherine Hickley (The Art Newspaper), who states that the museum purchased the painting from Galerie Henze & Ketterer in Berne (Switzerland) for an unknown sum. The gallery, on the other hand, had bought the painting $1.3 million in 2008 at Christie’s London.
