In 2013, Pieter and Marieke Sanders gave a donation of over 100 works to the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Netherlands. Some of these works will be on show with the existing collection.

Among the works included in the exhibition are those by Marinus Boezem, Job Koelewijn, and Amalia Pica. For forty years, the Sanders couple collected sculptures, paintings, and photography works from three generations of unknown artists from all over the world. The Museum is excited about the donation, with Director Beatrix Ruf stating: “This gift expresses the meaningful relationship between the Sanders and the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam[…] we are profoundly indebted to their generosity.”

The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam is a museum of modern and contemporary art, founded in 1895. The museum features artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Marc Chagall, Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol, and Willem de Kooning.
