France and the Azerbaijani Embassy organized an important exhibition devoted to Azerbaijani Contemporary Art called “Azerbaijani Modern Works, TIERRA DEL FUEGO”. It took place in the prestigious Hôtel d’Evreux and was open to the public on 21 April in Paris.
The Republic of Azerbaijan and its capital Bakou have always been a forum of civilization and culture. This richness is the basis on which the country’s Contemporary Artistic identity has been building for 40 years –the same identity that is closely connected to France.
Most of the works exhibited in the Hôtel d’Evreux were the object of an exceptional loan by the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Bakou. Among the greatest artists of the exhibition could be mentioned academician Tahir Salahov.
The exhibition spoke for the vitality of Contemporary Art. 17 world-famous painters and sculptors proposed a set of eclectic works, from Abstract and Figurative Impressionism and Westernized Young Generation to the first representative of Avant-garde.
